Great looking in both modes. Fiddly transformation
Fanstoys Jive
Robot mode is excellent…very G1 toon accurate.
Vehicle mode is also excellent…very G1 toon accurate.
So is there a downside? For me the answer is yes. IMHO, Jive isn’t as solid as some of the other Fanstoys figures, and feels like he has less diecast and a bit more plastic. The transformation is quite fiddly (I guess it’s to be expected in order to get those sexy Porsche curves into the G1 toon robot mode).
My copy also has a loose pin inside the torso, at the point where the chest swings up and down during transformation…but I might just be unlucky.
IMHO it’s still superior to Downbeat but, unlike many of Fanstoys’ other offerings, it’s not worthy of 5 stars.
