Fans Toys FT-11 Spotter

I can't say that Reflector is one of my favourite characters by any means, but I felt compelled to complete the ranks of my season one Decepticons and Spotter was the best of the available options. Although perhaps a hair too tall, the robot modes are pretty accurate to the animation models, with fairly decent proportions and (almost) show accurate colours. The face sculpts are a little off, but better in person than pictures might suggest. All three figures are also surprisingly weighty thanks to the inclusion of die cast pieces. The combined alt mode is pretty boring and isn't completely animation accurate, but then Reflector's alt mode was always rubbish (I mean, come on, a camera?). The transformation is also a little bit fiddly and frustrating given the end result.

Fans Toys has included some decent accessories in the shape of guns, knives and alternate faces, and the various components of his camera mode can also be reconfigured into weapons should you be so inclined. Three energon cubes and a miniature version of Reflector's alt mode are also included, the latter presumably so you can have Thundercracker hold it to recreate moment from the G1 episode 'More Than Meets the Eye'. All of this adds up to a quality package and I'm proud to display Spotter alongside my other Masterpiece figures.
