Fans Toys FT-16 Sovereign Reissue

Will anyone else attempt to fill his shoes?

I missed out on this figure during the initial run, so I made sure to get my hands on the reissue. I not sure any figure is perfect, but Sovereign is almost certainly in the top five pieces in my collection. Extremely sturdy (plenty of die cast here), well proportioned, nicely painted, and a very accurate representation of Galvatron to boot. The robot mode is almost flawless; he could almost have stepped out of the movie screen. The alt mode is less impressive (mostly because Galvatron's alt mode is pretty uninspired to begin with), but it still looks nice enough. Getting him there can be a pain due to some very tight clearances and stiff pieces, but let's be honest, this is a figure you're going to display in robot mode for 99% of the time. You have a choice of face sculpts (neutral and angry), a die cast Matrix, a choice between transparent and opaque particle cannons and a funky purple 'blast' that attaches to the end of the cannon in either mode. You also get a flight stand to recreate the scene from the movie where he uses his cannon to propel himself.

The only real negatives are really minor nitpicky ones. He feet aren't the best and deviate slightly from the animation model in terms of colouration (as do his silver thighs). I also think his hands are too big, but that could just be me. His shoulders also have a habit of unlocking when you move the arms up and down. Oh, and as previously mentioned the transformation is a bit of a pain. Apart from that, he's great and you should definitely pick him up if you can find him.
