The best yet
Ditka is as close to a perfect copy of Blitzwing as I think we are going to see. The transformations are complicated enough to justify the price yet they are not overly complicated. There is good weight to it, the tank looks perfect and the robot is also very good if a little top heavy- be patient he will stand up...
Like anything there are still a few negatives but most of these I think are just down to pot luck on the production line: The vertical stabilisers are on a simple pivot and come loose so that they flop around in robot mode quite quickly. The head and nosecone do not fit as snug as they were designed to leaving the beige armature protruding from its slot in tank mode. But unlike some other models I have no fears over snapping or over stressing weak parts.
My final note is that in robot mode there is an unslightly gap if looking from above that makes the whole model look hollow, however there is an easy fix to this and that is to open the shoulder pads and rotate them backwards out of position, it covers most of that gap nicely and does not ruin the look of the robot.
Overall I am very happy with how Ditka is designed as even the jet mode which is often a stumbling block for Blitzwing has come out well.
Based on this I would even trust these guys to take a stab at a decent Broadside- something which on paper should be impossible.
